Rodney Thomas Instructional Technology Systems Professional - Science Learning Center
Rodney Thomas is the Classroom Support Specialist for the Science Learning Center.
His responsibilities include responding to telephone calls and/or e-mail messages from faculty members regarding technical difficulties in audio/video equipped classrooms located in the SLC. He also schedules audio/visual equipment training for faculty members, guest lecturers and teaching assistants who are assigned to the classrooms and performs routine maintenance of the audio/visual equipment, including LCD projector filter cleanings, stocking batteries for microphones and remote controls units.
Rodney is a current member of the University of Georgia National Alumni Association and Black Faculty and Staff Organization. He is also a member of the Consortium of College and University Media Centers (CCUMC) and attended the CCUMC annual conferences in Gainesville, Florida (2006) and Austin, Texas (2007). Rodney is currently preparing for certification in the field as a Certified Technology Specialist.
Rodney is currently working on his first novel, a historical thriller based on the Civil Rights Movement and owns over 1900 fiction and non-fiction books. He is a past member and Chairperson of the Morton Theatre Board of Directors (1999-2002, 2007-2010).
