Graduate School Resources and CIRTL

The UGA Graduate School offers additional resources and programming to support graduate teaching assistants, including the Interdisciplinary Certificate in University Teaching and CIRTL seminars.

Interdisciplinary Certificate in University Teaching

In support of the Graduate School’s teaching certificate program, the CTL offers course work in the area of teaching development, and assistance with the demonstration of teaching scholarship.

Students interested in pursuing the teaching certificate should contact Judy Milton (jmilton@uga.edu), Certificate Director and Assistant Dean of the Graduate School, to submit a formal application and a plan of study. This should be done as early as possible after deciding to pursue the certificate. Detailed information about the requirements of the certificate is available through the Graduate School.

CIRTL Network

The Graduate School supports UGA’s membership in the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning. CIRTL online courses and workshops, which are offered at no charge to UGA graduate students, postdocs, and faculty, provide an opportunity to engage in an interactive and synchronous or hybrid online learning experience with other students and instructors from across the CIRTL Network. For more information about CIRTL, contact Judy Milton (jmilton@uga.edu), Assistant Dean of the Graduate School.
