SUMMARY:Building Assessments with Quizzes and Question Libraries in eLC
DESCRIPTION:UGA’s eLC can be used to store\, facilitate\, and grade quizzes and exams in courses. Join attendees for this workshop to learn all about the eLC Quiz and Question Library tools. By the end of this workshop\, attendees should be able to create their own quizzes and exams in eLC. This session is part of a series that supports instructors and TAs in foundational eLC skills for their teaching and is ideal for those who are new to UGA or eLC (or anyone who wants to learn how to use eLC effectively). \nfacilitated by Cat Flippen \nPlease register here: https://forms.office.com/r/wjEFuWyAqc

SUMMARY:Supporting Neurodivergent Students in Active Learning Classrooms
DESCRIPTION:Active learning environments evidently enhance student learning; however\, some student groups (such as neurodivergent students) may experience these benefits differently. This workshop explores hidden barriers that neurodivergent students may face in active learning classrooms (e.g.\, challenges with staying focused\, information overload\, and anxiety stemming from ambiguity and social interaction) and provide participants with practical strategies for designing a neuroflexible learning space that supports neurodivergent students and benefits all students. Instructors will acknowledge and value neurological variation as a key dimension of human difference that enriches their teaching approaches. \nfacilitated by Terri Dunbar \nPlease register here: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/Nvjit3hmt3

SUMMARY:Preparing for the Job Market: TPS Peer Review and Beyond!
DESCRIPTION:Ready to take your teaching philosophy statement (TPS) to the next level? This is the workshop for you!  Bring your TPS for a hands-on session centered on peer feedback and aligning your TPS for varied academic contexts. We’ll learn how to identify specific institutional priorities and where to (authentically) tailor your narrative accordingly. Note: TPS in hand and willingness to participate in peer review are required for this workshop. \nfacilitated by Kelly Ford \nPlease register here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=HmwhqGNNUkOMO1D6HxR1se7Wj7M16LJBljSvvG_OiKpUNFcxR0lXSTBBRzQ3V1NNRkFJSEg1SklBVi4u

SUMMARY:Using Turnitin to Support Student Revision\, Reflection\, and Integrity
DESCRIPTION:In this workshop\, we’ll fully introduce you to Turnitin: we will walk you through how to set Turnitin up in an eLC course and enable TurnItIn for an eLC assignment. You’ll learn how to navigate and interpret the Similarity Report and the AI Report as a guide to understanding students’ areas of need for improvement. We’ll also discuss best practices with using Turnitin\, important settings you need to consider\, understand the student report view\, and show how both students and instructors can use Turnitin to improve writing with DraftCoach. This session is part of a series for instructors and TAs who are looking to take advantage of advanced eLC features and integrations to create engaging and effective learning experiences for students. \nfacilitated by Cat Flippen \nPlease register here: https://forms.office.com/r/b1JKmBhw0M

SUMMARY:Rethinking Assessment in the Age of AI
DESCRIPTION:It’s no surprise that students are engaging with Generative Artificial Intelligence (GAI) more consistently and perhaps erroneously on their assignments. This truth presents a unique opportunity to reimagine the purpose and function of assessment in your course. During this TA Café\, our Future Faculty Fellows will facilitate a discussion on how to design assignments with GAI in mind\, alternative forms of summative and formative assessment\, and what makes an ‘AI-proof’ assignment. \nFacilitated by: Future Faculty Fellows Lauren Beugelsdyk\, Sayan Chattopadhyay\, Doina Grecu\, Danielle KotrlaFuture Faculty Fellows Lauren Beugelsdyk\, Sayan Chattopadhyay\, Doina Grecu\, Danielle Kotrla \nPlease register here: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx?id=HmwhqGNNUkOMO1D6HxR1se7Wj7M16LJBljSvvG_OiKpURjBNMjlTM1AyODBJTTJNTFpOQUQwTE1IMC4u
