Steve Lewis is the Director of the Lilly Teaching Fellows program, a mentoring and development program for early career tenure-track faculty. He is also a faculty member and award-winning teacher in the Department of Physics & Astronomy.
Prior to joining the UGA faculty in 1998, Steve was a postdoctoral researcher first at University at Stony Brook and then at the University of Pennsylvania. During his time at Penn, he also became affiliated with Haverford College, a top liberal arts college in suburban Philadelphia, where he taught physics and began to develop his career-spanning commitment to best practices in teaching. Steve earned his undergraduate degrees in Physics and Math at the University of Illinois in 1988 and his Ph.D. in Physics at the University of California at Berkeley in 1993.
