Metacognition & Motivation

March 27 @ 2:45 pm - 4:15 pm

Effective teaching and learning rely on more than just the mechanisms of memory. Both a learner’s motivation to learn and their metacognitive behaviors can have a significant effect on whether and how much they learn. What you do in your instructional role can impact both student metacognition and motivation, and, ultimately, their success as learners. In this workshop, we’ll focus on exactly that: theories of motivation and metacognition in relation to learning, and how they can inform your teaching.
