eLC Start-Up: Learning the Learning Management System
Fri., Aug. 7 & Tues., Aug. 11
Kick your semester off with our special four-session eLC training series, offered in sequence on the same day and designed to guide you step-by-step through essential tools. These sessions are particularly designed for those who are new to Brightspace by D2L (a.k.a. eLC), but all are welcome.
- Getting Started with eLC (9:00-9:45 a.m.)
Begin your journey with eLC by exploring its foundations: get oriented to the layout and options, with a focus on the eLC dashboard and course homepage navigation. While you’re at it, learn about how and where to access ongoing support for your use of the learning management system. - Building Content in eLC (10:00-10:45 a.m.)
Dive into the eLC Content tool, learning about methods for adding and organizing your course materials for your students. - Demystifying the eLC Gradebook (12:45-1:45 p.m.)
In this session we’ll walk you through your options and methods for setting up your gradebook in eLC. It’s not as complicated as it sometimes feels, but has some quirks we can help you understand! - Creating Assignments, Quizzes, & Discussions in eLC (2:00-3:00 p.m.)
Get acquainted with key assessment and teaching tools in eLC, learning to create and manage assignments, quizzes, and discussions, and to connect these items to the gradebook.
