Respondus is a platform integrated into eLC that allows instructors to conduct secure and proctored online exams. There are two different Respondus tools: Respondus Lockdown Browser, and Respondus Monitor.
Respondus Lockdown Browser is a specialized web browser that safeguards the testing environment in eLC by restricting student access to additional resources while taking a test. Students need to install this browser on their computers.
Respondus Monitor is an additional feature to the Lockdown Browser, requiring students to use a webcam and microphone. This ensures that exams are proctored or “monitored” by the platform, enhancing security during the testing process.
