Technology and Support

The Center for Teaching and Learning provides and supports innovative technological resources to enhance UGA’s instructional, research, and service missions, including training and support in the operations and best practices of videoconferencing. It is our job to provide assistance to those on the UGA campus as well as off campus at other learning institutions and beyond. The success of any videoconference is the direct result of proper planning.

CTL’s videoconferencing facility seats up to 13 (additional seating can be made available). This room is ideal for small classes, guest lecturers, international classes/meetings, interviews, and other faculty development and instructional needs. Integration of Zoom or Skype and other online needs are available.

CTL can provide help or services with H.323 connections along with on and off site bridging needs. Whether you need a point-to-point (a connection between two different locations and the simplest form of video conferencing but is limited to two points at a time) or multi-point (a connection with more than two different locations).

Facility use, in certain instances, can be made available outside normal business hours with a scheduled CTL facilitator.

Recording

Recording and broadcasting solutions link the worlds of video streaming and video conferencing as they add the ability to record significant and important video events for later viewing.

No matter how large the audience, recorded media can be distributed among thousands of prospective attendees around the globe, delivering a continued learning experience well beyond the event.

Using Zoom, CTL’s videoconferencing room has the ability to digitally record your sessions.  If needed, CTL staff can help direct you on how to upload these recorded sessions to a media storage platform (Kaltura) where they are stored in your own personal account.

NOTE: This room can also be used as a mid-level video recording studio.
