Regular Events & Programs

  • Workshops & TA Cafés: Each semester we offer a series of stand-alone workshops focused on specific teaching-related topics. Our TA Cafés are additional opportunities to meet other graduate and professional students from across campus, and get support for your teaching from more experienced TAs. • GradTeach Certificate: The GradTeach Certificate is a non-academic certificate program designed to support the preparation of UGA graduate students to engage effectively in instruction, with an eye on their future careers. By participating in this program you will be exposed to basic foundations in the science and best practices of effective teaching. Along the way you will also create materials that may be useful in your development of a teaching statement and teaching portfolio. Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be presented with a certificate and letter of documentation from the CTL. Read more about the GradTeach certificate &/or join our listserv to receive regular updates.
  • Spring Teaching Celebration: The Spring Teaching Celebration is a signature CTL event for UGA graduate students. During this annual event, we showcase graduate student teaching accomplishments and innovations, celebrate and recognize award winners, and more. Our goal is to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions that UGA graduate students make to our campus teaching community. • Future Faculty Fellows: The Future Faculty Fellows Program (3FP), sponsored jointly by the Graduate School and the Center for Teaching and Learning, is a year-long professional development program that brings together 15 innovative and dedicated teaching assistants from across campus to talk about, reflect upon, and improve their teaching, while contributing to their preparation for the academic job market and the rigors of their first faculty positions. Read more about 3FP &/or join our listserv to receive information about application cycles.
  • Courses on University Teaching: The CTL typically offers two courses per semester (Fall and Spring semesters only), including one section of GRSC 7770, and one additional course on university-level teaching. Read more about the courses we teach.
